This Australian organisation is a market leader with offices in over 70 locations across Australia & New Zealand. Originally offering a core service of rental equipment, the company has grown to offer multi-faceted site security services and products including but not limited to temporary fencing, video solar surveillance and lighting as well as height safety. The organisation services an impressive range of clients from the mining, civil, residential, government, industrial, commercial, maintenance and events sectors. Due to rapid expansion of the company, a strategic and experienced National BDM is now required to further propel the company’s success in the site safety and security division. The National BDM will report directly to the GM of this division. The primary purpose of the role will be to lead and develop the regional business development teams across Australia and to assist regional managers with their business development whilst liaising with key potential and existing clients.  This critical role will be working closely and/or supported by a highly experienced sales team and Regional Managers.

The role will be broadly responsible for: coordinating tenders and quotes, developing strategic business relationships with key stakeholders, partnering with customers to identify innovative and tailored solutions to ensure maximum client satisfaction and retention, leading and developing a strong sales team across the country and delivering the budget to the GM of the division. The National BDM will also need to familiarise with the company’s impressive range of locally manufactured products and services.  

To be considered as the preferred candidate for this role, your career will encompass extensive experience in successfully developing new business opportunities for products across multiple sectors and a proven track record of growing a business from a low base. The preferred candidate will also possess strong negotiation skills, be comfortable with regularly travelling to principal branches across the country and be well versed in communicating at all levels of internal and external staff; ranging from construction supervisors to managing directors. Ideally, you will have experience in the industrial/equipment rental market with exposure to the security, construction or mining sectors. This will be reflected in your existing network of trusted contacts within the industry enabling you to ‘hit the ground running’. Furthermore, you must be technically adept and be comfortable with the latest technology.
