It is a leader in the undervehicle and underbonnet hard parts including suspension, drivetrain, braking, fuel systems, accessories and related solutions. Through the effective implementation of strategic growth and business improvement initiatives this business commands significant market share in its sector and now requires an experienced Category Manager to lead the ongoing success of the 4WD category.

The Category Manager will lead and develop a specialist Product Management team and report directly to the Business Manager. The role will lead and manage market pricing for all programs in the range, business planning, supplier interactions, relationships and negotiations in order to deliver a range of products with strategic fit and to maximise revenue and profitability. Success for this role will be defined not only through increased sales but in the establishment of collaborative, mutually beneficial supplier partnerships that help drive product sourcing innovation, a diversified brand portfolio offering and ultimately loyal customers who value personal service and expert advice.

In addition, specific key responsibilities will include; the development and implementation of brand, program, and product line business plans and supplier initiatives including sponsorships, marketing packages, attendance at customer and industry functions; delivery of the key financial metrics of sales, margin, stock turn budgets, product rationalisation; management and delivery of cost effective promotional campaigns, utilizing a mix of print, electronic, social media and catalogue; liaison with the leadership team and branch managers and be the “go to” specialist for the 4WD category across the business.

To attain this position you must demonstrate; substantial experience in product pricing, sourcing strategy, market mapping and competition analysis on a national or international basis. In addition, an understanding of the automotive parts and accessories market, emerging trends, and best practice B2B and B2C sales and eCommerce channels together with relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
