ARTC is responsible for managing infrastructure maintenance, capital upgrades and the movement of trains on interstate railway track across Australia, including the Hunter Valley Coal Rail Network. ARTC plays a critical role in the transport supply chain and in the overall economic development of Australia.

ARTC is executing a significant business transformation and growth strategy which capitalises on their extensive investment program, positioning rail as the mode of choice in the national logistics chain and now requires an experienced Commercial Services Specialist to join the Hunter Valley team based in Newcastle. The role of Commercial Services Specialist presents an outstanding career development opportunity, which will report to the Manager Customer Contracts and be a key team member.

Your accountabilities will lead and improve processes and systems relating to the commercial and contractual aspects of the Hunter Valley Access Undertaking and Access Holder Agreements. Your communication and problem solving skills will support internal colleagues, customers and stakeholders to ensure ARTC’s Hunter Valley business provides quality commercial and customer focused solutions across all aspects of commercial contract support.

You will review, understand and challenge existing systems and processes in supporting stakeholders and managing compliance; lead the development and implementation of business improvement processes; prepare contractual and supporting documentation and lead appropriate commercial negotiations. Highly collaborative, this role will also see you supporting the alignment of the customer contracts team and stakeholders across the Hunter Valley Coal Rail Network.

With relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably from a business discipline, you will have highly developed communication, process and change management skills, including a demonstrable logical and analytical approach to critical thinking problem solving in a commercially based role.
