This national company is a leading provider of electrical construction, maintenance and engineering services. They are well positioned to take advantage of the broad range of opportunities offered by the resurgent resources sector in Western Australia. A recent ‘whole of business’ review, and subsequent redefinition of a number of roles, has resulted in the need to recruit a skilled and experienced, Perth based, Operations Manager.
Reporting to a local Executive General Manager, you will be responsible for two business unit managers and will provide hands-on leadership to a team of Project Managers, overseeing a variety of electrical construction projects in Western Australia, and nationally. Supported by a corporate legal department you will be responsible for contract negotiation and review, both on and off site. Your sound knowledge of project scheduling will be pivotal to your success in this vital, varied and rewarding position.
Suitable candidates will have extensive project management experience, have had considerable exposure to site environments; preferably within the electrical industry, and have proven ability in relation to reviewing and negotiating contracts. You should be able to diagnose the impact of scheduling changes and orchestrate satisfactory outcomes. Other essential attributes are high level leadership and people management skills, extensive safety and environmental awareness and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
