Aphrodite Gold Limited is a new gold mining company formed for the purpose of acquiring and bringing into production the advanced Aphrodite Gold Project near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The project has a very substantial JORC compliant resource and other targets showing strong potential for growing resources for a sustained open pit and underground mining operation. Processing plants are located close-by which may facilitate an early start up in production. Preparation for listing of Aphrodite Gold on the ASX is at an advanced stage with listing expected in May 2010. An aggressive drill program leading to feasibility studies is planned during the first two years of listing. Aphrodite Gold is now seeking to build a dynamic and highly professional technical team with the initial appointment of two geologists to the key positions of Senior Exploration Geologist and GIS/Database Manager.

This is a critical role within the newly developed Geology team and you will be responsible for the maintenance and management of the entire Aphrodite Gold geological and other technical information database. This will involve developing policies and procedures and creating the templates for computer logging. You will be required to liaise with team members in order to obtain all the necessary information in the correct format as and when required. In addition you will be expected to prepare maps and diagrams for technical staff as well as company presentations and annual reports.

Candidates will possess a degree in Geology or higher level qualification with proven experience in sampling methodology, QA/QC auditing and analytical techniques with an understanding of the gold mining industry and resource modelling. Experience with various database and modelling systems would be a strong advantage. You should be a self starter with a strong work commitment and a high degree of organisational and administrative skills.
