This independently owned Australian business continues to benefit from strong, organic growth in the competitive, niche channel in which it competes. This newly created role will underpin and support their ambitious growth targets, and will be instrumental in overseeing a national sales strategy aimed at taking the business to the next level in a few years. Reporting directly to the CEO and an integral member of the senior leadership group, the role heads up a specialist team which includes expertise in Key Account Management, Business Development, Category Marketing/Promotions and Tenders and Proposals.  Broader responsibilities will extend to managing and developing sales plans, budgets and scheduling, monitoring and ensuring team members have clear KPI’s and targets, securing and sourcing new products/product ranges within the vertical specialisations the business has, and establishing new branches nationally.    

Your career to date will clearly define a track record operating in a very structured sales environment. Your enthusiasm and passion for gaining complete buy in with respect to “the way things are done” regarding the sales process is key.  At the same time, your customer focus must always be a priority - as long as closing the sale still motivates you toward achieving a bottom line result.  The company places significant emphasis on adhering to their established ‘core values’ which facilitates a consistent approach to everything concerning the sales process and is measured regularly via customer feedback. It’s important that you lead by example.

The right candidate will possess extensive experience preferably in the equipment hire industry or alternately leading a geographically dispersed team within a multi-site environment. Exposure to high transactional, logistically challenging environments is essential. You are methodical and detailed in your approach, can demonstrate by way of example your adaptability to change in line with business growth, and finally possess an unyielding preference for doing things ‘the right way’.
