Sales Engineer

This business has a very strong share of the market across the product categories in which it competes, and enjoys preferred supplier status for most of its key customers due to the infrastructure support it offers. This includes ongoing technical support and training by qualified trainers and technicians , a customer service team and a broad range of products that can essentially cater for setting up a complete infection control solution in Sterile Services, Operating Suite and Endoscopy areas (cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation). They currently have a need for an experienced hospital sales rep to take over a high performing territory primarily across Sydney South -West down to and including Canberra.     
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, your focus will involve calling on both private and public hospitals (and some day surgeries) targeting key stakeholders who manage and work in the CSSD area, including NUM’s, Theatre Managers and of course Heads of CSSD. Although the product range is diverse, a significant proportion is classified as capital equipment so candidates need to demonstrate their experience selling high value items in what is usually a long sales cycle involving decision makers which extend to procurement and senior management (CEO, COO etc). There is both account management and business development involved
The successful candidate will possess solid sales experience selling capital equipment to hospitals - preferably in the CSSD / infection control area, and exposure to Theatre and Endoscopy areas will also be highly regarded. A life sciences degree is also expected, and we will be questioning candidates on their negotiating skills right through to closing the sale, and the extent to which they manage their pipeline. You are resilient, passionate about making a difference and prefer to sell high end branded products.
