Manager Health and Safety

Port Waratah Coal Services is the world’s largest coal export terminal. Our terminal services at Kooragang and Carrington underpin the activities of the Hunter Valley Coal Chain, connecting Hunter Valley coal with the world. We foster a culture of engagement and recognise the contributions our people make to the success of our business and the local region.

We have recently completed a review of our operations leadership structure to build on past successes and transition to a new era of aligning our teams to deliver for our customers.  This means we have created new leadership roles for the right people who can demonstrate their ability to lead and develop people through change and build effective team interfaces, while pursuing continuous improvement.

At Port Waratah, we hold the health and safety as an overriding value in all that we do. The newly created Manager Health and Safety will shape the strategic direction of Health and Safety by driving a continuous improvement approach in the development, delivery and governance of health and safety strategies and initiatives to ensure its workforce “Work to Live”.

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in a continuous improvement approach to safety culture, safety psychology, and an engaging leadership style with the ability to influence at all levels. Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety and knowledge of the NSW Workplace Health and Safety and Workers Compensation Legislation in an industrial environment is important. Proven experience in the development and application of occupational health and safety procedures, risk management, injury prevention, return to work and health and wellbeing is also required.

This role attracts a generous and competitive remuneration package.
